About Us

• Forge Fach Day Nursery is a purpose built nursery that is registered for babies and children from 0-8 years.
• We offer a great service to parents/guardians and quality care and education for 0 to 8 year olds.
• We are CSSIW registered for 12 Babies/Children 0-2 years of age and 12
  children 2-8 years of age.
• We have fantastic facilities and resources and above all we have a great team of staff looking after your precious ones.
• We offer practical opening times, Monday to Friday, offering full/part time places and play sessions.
• The design of the Nursery is fun, bright and attractive to children, with areas for active play, eating, sleeping and quiet times.
• All equipment, furniture and facilities are specially designed for children.

Working Together With Parents
At Forge Fach, we understand that leaving your child for the first time in Nursery can be a stressful and upsetting time for you and sometimes, your child, so therefore, we try and make this as easy as possible.

Once your place is booked, but before your child starts Nursery, we offer you and your child the opportunity to attend 'settling in sessions'. This experience is invaluable and will enable us to begin to build an important relationship with you.

We ensure that you are given every opportunity to talk to your child's Key Worker and other Nursery staff. Good communication between staff and parents is vital, as it will enable us to provide full reports on the progress your child is making and answer any questions you may have.

Parent's evenings are held regularly, which gives you and your child's Key Worker the opportunity to discuss their progress, needs and development. Monthly newsletters are produced for parents detailing Nursery activities and promotions, general information, changes to policies and any other information which you, as a parent should be aware of.

Our Key Worker System
A Key Worker will be dedicated to your child to encourage, support and develop their skills and ensure that individual needs are met for you and your child. We encourage parents to build a relationship with all staff who are caring for your child as this will help to ensure that there is always a familiar face for you and your child.

About Your Child Being Safe And Protected
Every day in Nursery is carefully planned to ensure your child receives the best learning opportunities in a safe, fun and caring environment whilst also ensuring we meet the individual social, physical and emotional needs of each child.

The nursery team realise the importance in building a trusting, confident relationship with parents and carers from the very first day, to ensure we meet the individual needs of both parent/guardian and child. All staff are CRB Checked (Criminal Records Bureau) and are trained in Paediatric First Aid, Basic Food Hygiene and follow our standards and procedures.

A safe and secure environment is obviously of great importance to any parent/carer leaving their child in a Nursery setting. This is why our Nursery has a secure Access System that means no parent or visitor can access the Nursery without being greeted by a member of staff. There is also CCTV throughout the Centre.

Only those authorised to collect your child and know the password you provide to them and us will be allowed access to the Nursery and to collect your child. Your child will be signed in on the room register each time they attend Nursery and sign out when they are collected.

Health and Safety also plays an important part in Nursery life. We ensure that our Nursery provides a safe environment for all children, parents/carers and employees. All the staff are dedicated in ensuring that all safety procedures and practises are adhered to throughout.

Healthy Eating
At Forge Fach Day Nursery, we believe that mealtimes should be social, happy times where skills can be developed and foods tasted!

All of our meals are carefully planned to meet individual needs and requirements of each child and to be nutritious and tasty. Milk, water or dilute juice are available throughout the day.

If you have any specific requirements or special dietary requirements, please inform the Nursery Manager and we will cater for your child on an individual basis.

Education Matters
Your child's time in nursery will be carefully planned and all activities are prepared appropriate to each age group.

At Forge Fach, we follow the 'Birth To Three Matter' Framework and Foundation Stage education programmes to ensure your child receives the best possible start to their learning in a stimulating and encouraging setting.

Birth To Three Matters recognises that all 0-3 year olds have a need to develop and learn through interaction with people and exploration of the world around them. Birth To Three Matters is divided into four 'Aspects' which focus the skill and competence of babies and young children and highlight the interrelationship between growth, learning, development and the environment in which they are cared for and educated.

These four aspects are split into components which are ASPECT and COMPONENTS.

The Foundation Stage is for children 3-5years old. It sets out six learning areas:

• Personal, emotional and Social Development
• Language, Literacy and Communication Skills
• Mathematical Development
• Knowledge and Understanding of The World
• Physical Development
• Creative Development

Each of the staff carry out planned activities to help meet the needs of each child with the aid of observation lead planning.
