CHRISTMAS AT FORGE FACH 2011

Once again this year, Forge Fach held a number of Community Christmas events. On Monday 5th December the Glantawe Lions Club held their annual 'Tree of Light' dedication service,which was followed by an evening of fun & entertainment for all at Forge Fach's Christmas Fayre, which featured stalls, refreshments a raffle & musical entertainment from Gemma Lee.

The following Monday, December 12th, we held a special festive Christmas Dinner & Tea Dance, which was very popular & which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. And on Friday 23rd December Santa joined us & some excited children for a very special "Breakfast With Santa"

PLAY DAY

Forge Fach & Graigfelen Communities First held a Play Day on Wednesday 3rd August 2011, from 12 - 3pm as part of National Play Day

This fun & activity day for children featured play activities, games, stalls, bouncy castle, raffle, face painting, refreshments & a display by the Ishtar Belly Dancers. The event was very much enjoyed by everyone - and the sun also decided to join in & shone down on us for the afternoon! Many thanks to all who volunteered their time & to those who so generously donated raffle prizes.

EASTER TEA DANCE

An Easter Dinner & Tea Dance was held at Forge Fach on Monday 18th April & was enjoyed by all who attended.

BLUE LIGHT DISCO

Blue Light Discos for children aged 8 - 11 years old were held at Forge Fach at various dates during 2011l. These events were supported by Graigfelen Communities 1st  and supervised by local police officers & were very much enjoyed by everyone there.

ACADEMI HYWEL TEIFI

Swansea University's 'Academi Hywel Teifi'  held a successful conference at Forge Fach on Friday January 14th to acknowledge Hywel Teifi Edwards (1934-2010), titled "ADRODD EIN STORI - Y Prifysgolion, y Cyfryngau a'r Bobl"

CHRISTMAS AT FORGE FACH 2010

Forge Fach held a number of events in December 2010 to celebrate Christmas. On Monday 6th December the Glantawe Lions Club held their 'Tree of Light' dedication service,which was followed by what has become our annual Christmas market. The following Monday, December 13th, we held a special festive Christmas Dinner & Tea Dance.

Unfortunately, due to the bad weather conditions which made getting to the centre very difficult, our 'Breakfast with Santa' event & the Community Carol service planned for Mon 20th December both had to be cancelled. Parents who paid for Breakfast with Santa are asked to call into the centre for a full refund. We apologise for any inconvenience & disappointment caused.

FORGE FACH FUNDAY

Forge Fach held a very successful community Funday on Wednesday 28th July,which featured games, lucky dip, bouncy castle, face painting, craft stalls, raffles & a dance display from the Ishtar Belly Dancers.

Many thanks to our volunteers for their invaluable help & to the local businesses, individuals & friends of Forge Fach who so kindly donated raffle prizes. A special thanks goes to Vale (Inco) for their very generous donation of £100 towards the costs of the event.

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA

Santa made a welcome return to Forge Fach on Saturday 12th December, joining some excited children for our annual "Breakfast with Santa" event.

TREE OF LIGHT & CHRISTMAS FETE 2009

Forge Fach was once again the host venue for the Glantawe Lions Tree of Light dring Christmas 2009. The dedication ceremony & lighting of the Tree took place on Monday 7th December, followed by an evening of fun & entertainment for all at Forge Fach's Christmas Fete, which featured a Christmas Market, Santa's Grotto, Refreshments & Children's Entertainment plus live entertainment from Criagfelen school Choir & Brass Band, The Performance Factory Stage School & Cytun.

LANTERN PARADE, TREE OF LIGHT & CHRISTMAS FETE 2008

Christmas celebrations at Forge Fach started on Monday 8th December with a Willow Lantern Parade, "Tree of Light" service and a Christmas fete.

The Lantern Parade, which was organised by the Graigfelen Communities First Team, started from Craigfelen School & made its way down to Forge Fach where the Glantawe Lions "Tree of Light" dedication service took place, accompanied by the Craigfelen School Brass band. This was followed by a Christmas Fete which included Santa's Grotto, Arts & Crafts stalls, entertainment & festive food.

COMMUNITY HALLOWEEN PARTY

Forge Fach's Community Halloween Party took place at the Mond Hall, Clydach on Friday 31st October and featured a disco and raffle. Thanks to all who attended, especially those in fancy dress!!

FORGE FACH FUN DAY - AUGUST 2008

Forge Fach held a Fun Day on the afternoon of Saturday 30th August.

The event was organised by InHouse Entertainments and featured a range of entertainment including circus skills & trapeze workshops, bouncy castle, inflatable Gladiator Duel, performances by Design Dance Hip Hop Academy, DJ, stilt walking and balloon models.

Fortunately the weather was warm and dry throughout the afternoon and a good time was had by all who attended.

FUNDRAISING EVENT - NOVEMBER 1ST 2007

The 'Friends of Forge Fach' organised a variety entertainment show at Forge fach on Nov 1st to raise money toward building a children’s play area at the Centre. The show, which was hosted by CC Swan (Phillip Arran) featured a wealth of local talent and young singers and dancers from Forge Fach based ‘The Performance Factory’ and ‘Design Dance’, along with an auction and raffle.

The evening was a great success, raising an amazing £1,500!

Many thanks to all who supported the event plus all those who put in so much time and effort. A special thanks goes to Diane Murphy for all her hard work and enthusiasm.
